Great price... However, take a look of these pictures:

Be sure to scroll down to see the pictures of solid colors on the display, where it is extremely blocky and uneven. I was all excited about it until I saw the pictures someone took of this TV... Sigh...
wow...shocking. you clicked on a 78" rca for $1K and expected "good specs"....you people kill me...
its not bad quality, it is a good price for what it is. if you want a higher "quality" tv you can pay more and find it...or shave a foot or two off the size. you can pay $15,000 and get a great quality 78". i think more people here are sick of people having unrealistic expectations for a 78" tv priced at $1k.

every time a tv deal is posted you have the people spitting out the videophile buzz words like "oh this isnt oled" or "oh this is ips". you have to take into consideration price when setting realistic expectations for a deal.

feel free to post a better deal for a 78" tv at $1000..if you cant, then get off your high horse

Just no HDR for movies and xbox one S and X. Other than that its still an upgrade from your DLP to 4K. I got an Mitsubishi 65 inch and bought the Vizio M65-D0 on ebay for 699.99. I'm waiting til prob next year to see if the new tuners, hdmi 2.1 and other essential features will be in the TVs before I go up to 70+. I will get a short throw projector for anything over 80+, the prices for those are dropping too. Those updates will make all of these tvs out now drop considerably in price. Next year 75, 78 and inch Samsung and Vizio's will be this years RCA lol.
Then I'll just wait for next year, it sounds like. For some reason when I read this I thought it had HDR.

75" sceptre for $1000 at walmart, more reviews posted about it. I know 3" difference is big at this size (queue d*** jokes), but you save $100, may be good for those who dont want rca, although im not high on sceptre.

3" is very significant at this size...had my 75" Samsung 3D for a few years now...completely blew my 65" away in size.

Lookin forward to an 80" but I doubt I'll be able to get a 3D that size for less than a small fortune.

Just for the record, that's not the TV doing that, that is decompression of a compressed data block from cable that does that. The TV is displaying properly, but cable TV picture is compressed and then decompressed in blocks like so..

I went ahead and bought two of them. Should be a Samsung panel according to all the information out there about it. Apparently it has a nearly identical model number to Samsung panels according to some people at redflagdeals forum. Aside from some backlight bleed and crappy software, it should be an otherwise great screen. I am using them as computer monitors so they can be on the left and right of my center curved display which is the high quality display anyways.

I also bought the 3 year warranty for both. Was only $100 each and they say they provide a pre-paid shipping label if you ever need to send it in. No idea how that is gonna work out, but I will keep the shipping boxes regardless.

For $1100 I'm ok with some bleeding but that's bad quality. People crack me up it's either you get shitty quality for $1100 or spend $15,000. Spend the extra $600 and get a TV you won't regret.
you saw one picture on one website and made a judgement about the quality of a tv set and then advised people could spend 60% more and get something better...not sure who is cracking who up...

I can't tell if you're serious about using these in a triple monitor setup. If you actually are pleases send pictures, I need to see that

I am serious. This size was just never at my price point. Four 2x3 foot maple butcher block desks with 2x2 square steel legs that I made. They are in a corner. 49 inch curved display in center, 78 inch on left and right. I just have to figure out a way to rest the TVs on the desks. I am limited on space and only have 1 inch to work with. I may have to build something onto the back of the desks to keep them upright.

Oh, I and I do plan to upgrade the center TV eventually.

for only $1k each i could see somebody having bought 3 of these to take up a whole room for a 3 monitor set-up...but it would literally take up an entire room* and i have no clue how anybody could play a video game that way since you would strain your neck trying to look around haha

edit *take up an entire mom's basement

Haven't you ever wanted a room with just massive displays covering the walls like in sci fi movies? Well, now you can. Smilie

If you look on the previous page there's a user review of this tv and he says it's just okay, not great. Same with the user reviews (linked previously) over at reddit. Sounds like it doesn't have very even back lighting (edge lighting isn't typically all that great and even worse on a screen this size) and possibly a little motion blur with this tv also. It's a case of you get what you pay for here. IMO, it's better to spend a bit more (I'm think around double) for a screen that's going to wow you and certainly have HDR (that's the whole reason for going UHD IMO). A thousand bucks isn't that much $ these days. Sh!t, most people spend that on little cell phones these days.

The panel was manufactured by Samsung! Clearly the RCA bashers don't know this
LMAO. Just because it has the same panel that Samsung used in one of their higher end TVs doesn't make it anywhere near Samsung quality. For one, that TV which used this panel had micro dimming and HDR. This one seems to have neither. Plus there's a lot of other electronics that goes into a TV to make it or break it when it comes to reliability and image processing. This one might not handle motion well, have horrible contrast, or upscale horribly. Might not be built to last with a lot of subpar components. Just this to consider before you go calling this a Samsung.

this just circles back to the same argument..you are saying you get more if you spend twice as much...

some people will be very happy with this tv for the money. nobody is arguing you cannot spend more and get more. you will have positive and negative reviews with every tv set. its easy enough to go to best buy or walmart and check similar sets out and judge yourself. i have learned to take what i read online with a grain of salt or let one bad egg spoil the bunch. i have been surprised with supposedly "terrible" tvs looking great and great tvs looking "terrible".

you think the people waiting at stores on BF for hours wanting that 55" tv for $150 care if it has hdr or is oled, no, but they go home unpack it and enjoy their new big screen tv that they may not have otherwise been able to afford (or pocket the extra money for next year) and to them probably looks just fine. i doubt they are thinking "but some guy on reddit said it has light leak, oh no"

i just caution people who use the mindset of "well just spend 100% more and you can get something better". that is not what this deal is about, this is a 78" tv for $1100, i think most people will be happy for what they are getting for their money. you want to spend $2000 and get HDR, then great.
