I bought one, and the feature set is good, but the HDMI has audio delay problems.

It can take 4-7 seconds for the WMC audio to switch on when starting a new program or resuming from pause.

Is the HDMI audio delay just with this model or do all the pioneer's have this problem? I was looking at the the elite vsx-302 at best buy for $100 more.

Figures since Pioneer is made by Onkyo now.

If you're using a PC, you might get some relief by adjusting the video display mode.

At one point I thought I'd fixed it with a different video rate, but then it came back.

I purchased this unit (and have only had it for about a week) but I do not seem to have the same issue described with the sound delay. So far I have been pleased with the receiver and and researching other similar units within the price range and it's a great deal. With Dolby Atmos and chromecast built in Its hard to find anything comparable at the price. While I agree that is an definitely an issue as far as the sound delay I bet it's being caused by how your equipment is connected. Are you using ARC?

I'm using a PC in to the receiver with the video out to a TV. It's been a consistent (but minor) nuisance for the entire time I've owned it.

I do have ARC enabled on mine. Can't turn it off as this is the primary TV and the simplicity factor provided is needed by other members of the house.

I need a receiver as my old one no longer works. Been looking at the Denon AVR-X1300W for around $275ish. Should I go with this one instead?

I had a vsx-301 but took it back due to the HDMI problem which was worse than on 1131

Maybe they fixed for the 302?
