Read comments before you purchase. Actual buyers state they arrived broken, or are nonfunctional in one way or another.
iTD refuses to address these. However, as a slickdeals sponsor, these deals keep going frontpaged, and then upvotes by people who haven't received it yet.

Once it arrives from China 2-4 weeks later, the damage is done, and the shady China based company banks on shoddy merchandise.

They are powered from the outlet, no batteries needed.

It is my understanding that each outlet does NOT need to be a GFCI outlet around kitchen counters. They ALL need to be GFCI protected, which is accomplished by installing a single GFCI outlet and connecting to the protected side all other "downstream" outlets.(example manual [cooperindustries.com])... technically, I believe you need two, 20A circuits for the kitchen counters, so at a minimum you would need two GFCI outlets.

As for any other reason, I don't know if they violate code.
