closer to k270/272's design-wise since those are closed back as well while k240's are semi-open.

Youre probably right. I wasnt referring to the open back design, but the headband and ear cups. The AKG K 240s are legendary standards that have been around for 50 years...which is why I referenced them.

k272's have the same headband and earcups. Smilie

yeah, the k240's are pretty legendary, they were in so many studios back in the day. I have 5 pairs of various vintages.

I'm intrigued, considering their premium ear covering headphones under $20 we're pretty decent.
But some of their products on the other hand are tepid in sound quality.
Only time will tell, I guess.
