How much of an upgrade is the 8th gen? Looking to use for basic business needs and Photoshop. No gaming.

I love the XPS form factor. Is this worth it given it's 7th gen?

Check this review [pcmag.com] . The Y processors lag behind in tasks involving heavy loads. For business purposes, It will be handy as it is ultraportable.

Was really leaning towards a yoga, but after reading all your posts, is this the best choice?

Other than the 360 hinge, are there any differences between this and the 9360 from the other posts?

Are there any other retailers selling this guy that might price match?

Sorry for so many questions.

This model uses the 7th gen Y processor where as the 9360 uses 8th gen U processor which has superior performance. The xps 2 in 1 review on cnet can give u more insight on how it compares with the 9360 model

How can I tell which gen I looking at? Is there a different model number?

Also, how much is the 8th gen? Is there a deal?

Please click here [cpu-world.com] for a one to one comparison between the two

The processor i7-7Y75 ( 7th gen i7) is used by the xps 13 2 in 1 in this thread.$799 is the lowest ever price for xps 2 in 1 model

There was another deal for the normal xps 13 (without a 360 degree hinch) for $749. That one was using i5-8250u ( 8th gen i5) But it is OOS online as well as in store as of now.
PFB the link for the same

You'll find a bunch of deals for other laptops with i5 8th gen processor if you are not particular about owning xps

I'd really like a 2 in 1. Preferably one of these that folds flat. Apparently an 8th gen processor is worth the upgrade. Any recommendations?
