I've been in the market for a decent quality train set, and this one seems to fit the bill. It's on sale on Amazon until midnight PST. CCC shows it just dropped from $279, with the average price around $220. This is the lowest it's been since December of 2013.

Set includes:
  • Powerful 0-8-0 locomotive and coal load
  • Boxcar, tank car, and caboose
  • LionChief remote controller
  • 8 O36 curved FasTrack pieces
  • 3 10" straight FasTrack piece
  • 10 wall-pack terminal FasTrack piece
  • (Remote control batteries not included)

Yeah it is... MSRP is $250, you should buy 50 of them. That's $120 each. Easiest $6000 you'll ever make!!!!!

Great deal, bought this one and the Polar Express one for around the same price last time they dropped in 2013. Great quality and haven't seen prices this cheap again til now.

Just as an FYI, there is an updated version of this set that you can control with Bluetooth.

But unless you absolutely need that, the set OP posted is definitely a really good deal and perfect set for anyone.

I got this set, it's nice bought it back in 2013 for $124. The only don't like, is you can't let it going around with out the sound on. I fixed that but flipping one of the cars and zip tying it.

Die cast locomotive and electric train. Not bad at all.

I bought this when it cost $227 last month. I ended up returning it because the sounds started going in and out for no reason. At this price, it's worth getting even with the risk of that happening again. A warning to anybody thinking about grabbing one - you'll quickly be tempted to buy more cars and track. An oval gets boring quick and while the included cars are fine, it's hard to resist grabbing at least one passenger car since one isn't included.
