We've all heard the Christmas classics. November 1st they start playing on the radio, in retail stores, and all the Christmas movies. Things like Jingle Bells, Let it Snow, Little Drummer Boy, Silent Night, etc... They play so much it's sickening.
What's your favorite alternatives to those repetitive offerings?
Here's my list.
Grandma got run over by a reindeer - a funny song about grandma drinking too much eggnog and stumbling out in the snow and getting run over by reindeer
The 12 pains of Christmas - a parody on 12 days of Christmas. 1st pain is finding a tree, 2nd rigging lights, etc...
Mary and Joseph by Tim McGraw - A country interpretation of the story of Jesus' birth, but from the perspective of Mary and Joseph.
Christmas Cookies by George Strait - a fun song about how Christmas cookies are so good that he can't stop eating them
There's a new kid in town by Chris Young - Never heard it, apparently it came out in the 80's and Chris did his own version just recently. I like the sound.
December 1943 by John Michael Montgomery - talks about how soldiers during a war find peace for a night.
Mary It's Christmas by Toby Keith - Man visits his wife's grave on Christmas and talks about their 2 year old daughter. A reminder that not every Christmas is happy.
Christmas in Heaven by Scotty Mcreery - Like the previous one, a reminder that there is also sorrow on Christmas. Everyone talks about Christmas here on Earth, but what is it like in Heaven?
"Ain't no chimneys in the projects" 1/2 funny 1/2 serious. Was a nice surprise.

OMG, I love this one, it gets stuck in my head every time I hear it
And they looked so HAPPY about it!
Entirely too much. I mean....not nearly enough
I would, except someone poured it on me and now it's all gone!
