Laundry Detergent: Pacs/Pouches vs. Liquid?

Title says it all, which is better, those small pacs/pouches or the liquids?

1) The pacs usually have 1 or 2 smaller sections that have different liquids, things that normally wouldn't be able to mix with normal liquid detergent. So it allows them to make special formulas.
2) They are extremely convenient. When I used the liquid stuff, you have to measure it, close the lid tight, sometimes stuff spills out and it's a sticky mess. With the pacs you just throw 1, 2, or 3 in and load. No mess, no fuss, no measuring. It's awesome. Considering you do laundry weekly, it's 1 less annoyance in life.
