Fort those on a super tight budget - or looking to replace their older coax system - it is worth while.
Remember a big part of the job is cabling - so I recommend getting better cabling, and if you're putting in new cabling - then better to go with quality cat6 ( you normally have to buy the cabling separately to ensure quality cable )
Cat6 works best with PoE - and IP cameras have better options once you start getting into better resolution and features - so if you can afford it, go PoE and Cat6.
