Welcome to the official SD Coca-Cola.com/offers / Formerly My Coke Rewards Discussion Thread, proud to talk rewards since 2006! (We often discuss Coke promotions, (texting games, sweepstakes, etc.), which use Coke/MCR/codes or membership info to signup.)

Site: https://us.coca-cola.com/offers

A toast to My Coke Rewards, the Greatest Rewards Program in History! Applause

Coca-Cola.com Offers FAQ, (Formerly My Coke Rewards [MCR]):

- How may I contact them?
  • Phone: 800-520-2653 to reach an agent directly
  • email address: [email protected]
  • Ask Chip, your virtual agent, (formerly Allysa and Hank) on the site footer under the CONTACT US link.
- When does the promotion end?

There is no specific end date for the program.

- Inactivity

Each particular Coke promotion may have its own activity clause.

- Participating Products:
Barq's, Coke, Coke Zero, Dasani, Diet Coke, Fanta, Fresca, Mellow Yellow, Minute Maid, Powerade & Powerade Zero, Fuze, Pibb, Sprite, Seagram's, Tab.

- Values:
Point values per code are no more, All codes are equal value, but check promotion. Check packaging for a MyCokeRewards Label! Not all Coke packages have the MCR logo, (i.e. 6-pack w/glass bottles).
However, in Coke's Give Program to schools, codes still have different values to school donations, see wiki below!

- List of Accepted MCR Letter & Number Code Characters & Character Substition

There are 25 total characters, (letters or numbers only), that are accepted in 14-character MCR codes, (out of 36 available, A-Z, and 1-0). Five of the characters may also be input as substitutions for other similar-looking characters. Either upper- or lower-case letters are accepted. The available characters are:

Letters: B F H J K L M N P R T V W X (No C D E G* I O* Q S* U* Y Z)
Numbers: 4 5 6 7 9 0 (No 1 2 3 8*)

* The five accepted substitute characters for similar-looking characters:
  • B = 8
  • V = U
  • 5 = S
  • 6 = G
  • 0 = O (Zero, '0', is the officially accepted character according to MCR error messages; letter 'O' is the substitute.)

- Where do you find all the codes?
Here are a few ways...
- drink soda
- participate/lurk on this board
- ask friends/family/neighbors/co-workers to save
- dumpster diving
- jumping out of cars upon seeing flaps on the side of the road
- referring a friend on the site
- ask Maids to save for those who travel
- ask recycling centers to save
- purchase on eBay
- sporting events, zoos, parks, etc
- make trades

Quote from ChrisB65 :
That's still a big difference from in 16 tries, you "randomly" get all 16 different seeds and not get one duplicate instead. If it was truly random, the odds would astronomical of so many people getting 16 different seeds in their first 16 attempts, yet many of us did. Even if there was a backlog of seeds, you would get the next seed in queue, not the next seed in queue that you don't have yet, unless it wasn't truly random. Like StormRichards said in this thread, "Coke's definition of random is different than the rest of the world's"
If there was a backlog of wins built up, simply because people weren't playing fast enough to win when one came out (I think someone calculated it to be a win every 5 seconds or so) so if in the early days there wasn't someone playing on average every 5 seconds, there was always extra ones waiting. So the winning times could still be random, but the wins would not be.

If there was a big enough backlog of wins, then it could very well be that there was at least one of each seed waiting to be won. So, when you logged in, even if you had 15 teams, you would get the one that you needed from that backlog.

There were somewhere around 8000 seeds given out per day on average. I really don't think it is beyond the realm of possibility that far fewer people than that were playing in the early days. Not counting people on this site, probably fewer than 5% of people who still bother with Coke.com after MCR shut down would have any idea how to use User Agent Switcher to enter without actually scanning a code on your phone. Probably less than 2%. Just looking at the posts on Facebook from Christmas suggests that most people were waiting for the AMOE then, and probably now. And even in the MCR days, I would be the NCAA game was far less popular than the holiday IW game.

So, hypothetically, let's say that 6000 people played each day during the Sip n Scan. Then, buy the time the AMOE opened up, there was a backlog of almost 30,000 wins to give out. That would easily offset the added people playing with the AMOE for at least the first day, when people were getting their 15th team. And probably the second day of AMOE too. And keep in mind that people were getting non-wins by then. They were just the unlucky ones that when they clicked on Enter, the one team they needed was not among the hundreds that were still in the unclaimed pool. Chances are, if someone else clicked on Enter at exactly the same time, and they needed a different team to finish their 16th, they would have won it.

I think the theory that people were playing less frequently than the average win time is more likely than Coke fixing a contest mid-game without there being any down time on the site. And I don't recall there being any mention of down time a few days ago. Plus the contest being broken doesn't account for the people that did get the "Sorry you didn't win" as early as over a week ago. An the many more who got it 3-4 days ago.

By the way, I also think there could be a big drop in people playing now as well. I don't know about others, but I stopped playing after just 9 plays on my first account simply because I had already completed one side of the bracket and guaranteed myself a Visa Card win. I rarely bother taking the time to play for grand prizes with such low odds. And since I wouldn't take the trip to the 2019 Final Four anyway, there was no reason for me to keep playing. I don't care about two random teams that I probably don't root for so it wouldn't even be worth the 30% or so of the normal cost that I would have to pay in taxes. So I'm only playing my second account now. And anyone that did complete all 16 teams have obviously stopped taking prizes. So that is why there are still probably more winners than you might expect even now. I'd bet there is still a backlog of wins but unlike before, just not one of every team at any given time. So for the people who only need 1 or 2 teams they are likely going to get shut out. But someone who starts playing for the first time, will likely win

So, last night I saw an email saying I was a winner in a coke related contest. I assumed it was a coupon for a coke and to my surprise it said:

"We're happy to let you know you're a winner in the ZICO® 2018 Meet & Greet Sweepstakes! You've won a Grand Prize, which has an approximate retail value of $5,198. Congratulations!

Grand Prize consists of a flyaway trip for winner and 1 guests to Vail, Colorado for a short meet & greet with Ashley Wagner, tentatively scheduled for March 29-31, 2018 but subject to change, pending athlete confirmation (the "Event").

Prize package includes round trip, coach-class air transportation for 2 from a major airport near winner's home (determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion); 2 nights' accommodations at Sponsor's choice of hotel (single room, double occupancy); round trip ground transportation between airport and hotel and hotel and Event; access for winner and guest to Event (all details determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion); a $500 gift card that may be used for food and beverages and spending money, terms and conditions apply; and travel agent services. "

I looked back through the official rules and it says they would contact winners on March 2.

I wonder if someone decided they didn't want to pay taxes on a $5,000 2 day trip and they chose an alternate? Smilie

I sent all the paperwork back to accept but didn't get a response yet. The trip takes place in 2 weeks already...

In all the years I've been entering coke codes and playing their various games, (even the latest ones in the middle of the night!) the largest prize I've ever won was a $50 gift card.

So, I about fell out of the chair when I saw this email!

Thank you, Platinumland & dave Smilie

Sorry I can't do the quote thingie. Been trying to reply, but it always seems to be left off. Can't even change my photo. Such a newb :S

Those Olympic & NASCAR bottles are sweet...especially the MLB ones. Would love to collect every team. Not all are included. It looks like Coca-Cola is only making them for whichever ball clubs sell Coke instead of Pepsi. Just a guess. Being from Cincinnati, I can only speak for Coke's affiliation with the Reds. Glad you liked the "dead" theme, Platinumland! Hope your sister really enjoys whatever ones you come up with Big Grin

dave, that $10 SAC code is much better than the usual reward. I've only been able to use the $1...so, I'm uncertain if the remainder would apply to shipping. Getting a couple of bottles & only paying for shipping might be your best option. Kind of like when Shutterfly gives a "free" gift, but shipping is not included. There is a threshold on SAC for free shipping if I recall...$50 or $60? Maybe you could pass that...use your reward...avoid shipping...& get a few more bottles. That is something I would definitely ask them about before processing a larger order, buddy. Btw, the package they come in is great. The whole thing is a gift, which makes for a great surprise if you're sending them to someone out of the blue Smilie

It seems your definition of random and Coke's are the same.

You can do all the E=M C squared you want, but there is something wrong with the Bracket Challenge and how the seeds were given out. My brackets are all filled now, but Monday night/Tuesday morning and the next two days I already an IWG play in My Rewards without scanning anything and it's still there, and I bet if I still needed a seed I could use it again. I'm not complaining, because I like Wendy's food and $10.00, but I have been doing Coke Rewards since 2009 and I don't remember any IWG that every one was a winner for 16 days straight.

Oh well. I have a bigger chance of winning than not winning. Big Grin
I hit goose eggs across the board the other day. The following day I played at 3 am eastern. It filled the last of all my brackets as I needed one on each and won a seed every time. I was hoping you would see my earlier post and hold off till the wee hours of the morning to finish your bracket. Good luck tomorrow. I hope they come through for you.

Well, no one can say that Coke dropped the ball on the Mystery promotion. Got all five Target $5 GCs today, one in each account. That's pretty darned quick turnaround, considering.

That just proves that there is no reason to make us wait 8 to 10 weeks for things we win that will be sent out as an e-gift card. If these can be sent out in two days no reason other prizes can't be sent out faster.
