just fyi if you know someone that is a member already ie your spouse, friend or child, they can send you a referral link which gives you a $20 gift card and the current member $10. this slickdeal referral is similar it seems but its $15 vs $20. my parents membership expired the 22nd, told them to wait for one of the gift card + free food deals as every year they renew it, week later offer comes out for new members. my parents could have simply referred me or my dad and we could have gotten $30 in gift cards.

The referral link can be found by clicking on your account on the menu bar top right, then look on the drop down menu for "get $10 give $20"

I did this yesterday with the Amex offer. I never received the email confirming the promotion but I guess that common. Did get the $15 tho.

How long until the gift card comes in? I wouldn't be able to use my membership for a few weeks (moving) but wonder if I should just wait until I'm ready to use to actually buy the membership.
