I spent $180 to have something framed at Michaels. I used the Command hooks and figured out the exact weight to use. I made sure the hooks were spaced perfect and level. Within a day one hook completely snapped at the base of the hook and the other fell off the wall. The glass of the picture frame broke and the framing bent.

User error? Maybe. But I would advise against hanging anything of value with these. Don't make the same stupid mistake I did.

I should also mention I used these things because my landlord won't let us drill into the wall.
From CCC, i can see the following price change history...

Dec 31, 2017 07:41 PM $5.02
Dec 31, 2017 06:18 AM $6.99
Dec 25, 2017 04:02 AM $5.02
Dec 15, 2017 05:47 AM $5.29
Nov 28, 2017 02:19 AM $5.21

Its a good price, good product.. but not necessarily a great price.
Seems like 20 cents off the normal price.

Were you using the hooks or these velcro strips from OP? I find it very hard to believe this velcro will hold anything. As for the hooks, I have a little more trust in those.

For hanging nice pictures though, I would stick with the hangers linked below. (Not from that specific vendor, just quick google search to get image.)

Would have bought one from Amazon if it is not an add-on. Target is selling the same thing for $5.02.

5 months ago I used these to hang a 12" x 20" shadow and five 3' x 1' canvases, and I hadn't had any issues.

I can't speak to why the hook snapped, but I do know that some newer paints resist things like command strips and some kinds of tape/adhesives. We repainted one room, and command strips refused to hold up even an unframed poster in that room, though they were fine elsewhere.

These are great. I've used them for so many things, even wood display shelves. They hold well and secure. $5 isn't bad at all...my local Walmart charges a lot more for these suckers for sure. May get same deal at a club store but for the rest of us this is pretty good. Thanks OP.

It was the hooks, not the Velcro strips listed here. I'm just forever skeptical of this entire brand now.

Anyone think these might work to hold up a Foscam IP cam?

When my wife used one well within the specs it ripped the wall so instead of a little nail hole, a patch job and repaint was required. Not sure where the fault fell - the wall, paint, or he hooks - but using proper hardware correctly while less convenient and possibly more expensive has always left minimal marks (to me) and never the damage this setup left.
