I'm not sure why Frys has new old stock JU7100 series Samsung sets.

They JU7100 was a fantastic set back in 2015. 120Hz panel, good contrast ratio, peak brightness, black levels, uniformity, etc. But the KS8000 (2016 equivalent) and MU8000 (2017 equivalent) added two key features the JU7100 doesn't have: HDR and improved contrast ratio/peak brightness necessary for HDR.

I believe the Samsung 82MU8000 has been in the ~$3000 ballpark over the last few months; I would definitely lose 3 inches in size for an HDR capable set.

Yes. And this isn't really much of a deal, this is ancient stock that they've been peddling for months.

I bought this 75" version of the JU7100 in late 2016. To hear it called ancient...hurts.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but they added HDR capability with an firmware upgrade a while back.

The ju7100 is great, i have the 49in version and play games with it in HDR. Also has around 21ms input lag i believe but not sure what the lag is at this deals size. Great tv at its time but $3k for a nearly 3 year old set sounds like a bad deal.

It's the last series Samsung offered that was 3D ready
