Great deal considering the lens is $800 new. Shot a wedding using the X-E2 as a backup to X-T2 last night and it can still hang!

I really want to go mirror-less. I feel like it would lighten my load as I primarily shoot on location, a couple LBs goes a long way. How's the auto focus/ face detection on this model?

This is a good deal, for sure. I have an xpro2 and an xt1 and I can tell you that the 16mp sensor is still very good. I used to have an xe2 (and the grip, also) and my biggest complaint with it versus newer cameras is that the viewfinder isn't very good. It's fine, sure, but it's nowhere near the current gen. I haven't owned this lens but I've heard good things. It is an odd pairing with this camera, though.

If you're shooting casually or travel/landscape this camera should be sufficient (minus the weatherproofing). With that being said, the Auto Focus and Face Detection on all X-Trans II cameras is inferior to that of the newer X-Trans III (X-T2, X-T20, X-E3, X-Pro2).

This deal is appealing because essentially you're getting a tack sharp prime wide lens for $800 and the camera body for $50. If you don't mind used this lens usually goes for about $500-$600 on BHPhoto.

Not everyone pay full retail price for lens. I can get that lens for half the retail price.

I just got a new XT20, would it be a good idea to buy this kit and sell the body, to keep the lens at a discount?

An apsc sensor, but that's it. The gx85 is a better all around camera with a larger feature set. If you already have a gx85, this deal shouldn't tempt you.

This lens is for landscape shooters and really not much else. It's a very wide fixed focal length lens with a moderate aperture. If you aren't planning on setting up a tripod and taking pictures of waterfalls and buildings, the answer is no.

They just put two unattractive items together to sell....if the lens is Fuji 56mm f/1.2, I will buy it without hesitation
