In fact, because it's so fast, I end up using it almost exclusively over several others including a Hamilton Beach that was 2X the price.
I use it in conjunction with my gas stove too for noodles which will never boil water as quickly as these do.
Also, for anyone who hasn't used an electric kettle before and may be concerned in using one due their tap water being soft, all you have to do is add a pour of distilled white vinegar to near max level of water and bring it to boil once. Let it sit for a few minutes and you'll be good to go
