PROS:
1) Never have to buy propane. No worries of propane running low/ out
2) Set it and forget it temp, also much easier to get to temp and maintain than my old propane one
3) Taste is just as good in my opinion as a propane one (I'm not sure why it would be different, the heat and the wood smoking is what gives the flavor anyway)
CONS:
1) Tiny wood chip tray that u have to change every 30-45 mins. Tiny tray means though u never open the door and lose temp.
2) Temp not always accurate, double check it with an electric probe thermometer
3) Smaller size than other smokers. I have to cut my rib racks in half. Can only smoke about 4 full racks of ribs in it.
I ended up getting the cold smoker attachment so I could get a longer smoke out of it rather than coming back to fill the smoke chip tray ever 30-45 min. I also bought the Amazen smoker tray for wood pellets. I don't recommend it in the electric smoker since there isn't enough airflow to keep the pellets smoldering, not unless you're going to cold smoke or build an exterior mailbox unit like some do for these Amazen trays.
Anyhow, the Bluetooth feature is a gimmick, I don't think I need to tell you all that. The connectivity is intermittent. Well, only when your phone goes to sleep, expect to have to reconnect which isn't a problem, just a quick search. I still use my own wireless temp probe, so the built in Bluetooth temp probe is nice to have as a secondary monitoring tool.
Between my personal probe and the built in one, the temp difference is aprox -2/+2 in most cases but dependent on placement and depth of each.
If you get this smoker with the window as I have. Invest in Krud Kutter, the creosote and grease melt off. (Its non toxic too)

it seems like this one will be smoldering wood chunks not burning it.
Also you may need to add chunks every 45 minutes or so
I would really like to know the difference in taste between this one and charcoal or propane for all kinds of meats and poultry. I had very good experience with propane smoker and not so good with pellet
this one is supposed to be super convenient you set the temperature and you're done. I wonder if that still works when the outside temperature is way below freezing like single digits in Northeast
also I believe the maximum you can set is around 280 or something which should be fine for most smoking
Yes I just bought one. Looking forward to using it
