Other ads from Best Buy or Target for this model don't advertise it with HDR. The difference in ads keeps confusing me. I saw that on another tv at Wal-Mart being advertised with HDR. Then when I went to Best Buy to price match the same model, they said that the tv I was looking at doesn't actually come with HDR. I don't know what to believe anymore...

I don't know whether or not it can receive HDR signal, (I assume it can because it is sometimes advertised as being capable of such) but it certainly doesn't get bright enough to actually meet HDR10 or Dolby Vision contrast standards.

This is the whole "Full HD compatible" thing again when HDTV's were new. Still goes on today with low-grade projectors. They can accept a 1080p signal, but outputs some crappy lower native resolution.

It's the same thing now, HDR compatible doesn't really mean anything at all these days. If they had a simple way to describe the actual range of color and brightness that a TV is capable of it would help out the average consumer a lot.

Maybe it's a deal compared to normal price, but this is why I decided not to wait and just buy the 55H8C at retail price. 7.4 rating on rtings.com and regular price is $449 at Best Buy.
