REMINDER
You aren't paying for sound quality with these headphones, you're paying for a well rounded feature set of noise canceling, wireless capabilities, and decent sound. Wired headphones half the price will blow these away in sound quality. So only buy these if you absolutely need wireless and noise canceling.

Better than QC35 in terms of ANC. Comfortwise QC35 >> XM2, Sound quality: about same, features: XM2 >>>> QC35
This hands down. I have both.
QC is lighter but comfort-wise, it's very close. I travel for a living and used both on long flights. I have no issues with heat after a 16hr plane ride. But Sony has Bose beat in sound and ANC. Not even close there.

the sony nc was much better at a bestbuy display but they seem like they could get really hot and uncomfortable after a while.

It was at the same price (298) for last two weeks. At Abt you could get it for 298-25 + FS+ No Tax.

I have the first gen of these and also have QC25 and QC35's. The Sony's quickly became my go to headphones for travel. I found them to sound a lot better than the Bose and be much more comfortable for longer trips. The quick NR cancelling with your hand covering the right can is something that I thought was gimmicky at first but find myself using in airports and planes all the time. I don't know how much the second generation improved from the first but this is a good price point for a great set of headphones.

ANC > Comfort > Sound = Bose
ANC > Sound > Comfort = Sony

The earcups are smaller for the Sony, people with big ears would have issues. The Bose are top of the line in comfort. Sony sounds better and does get hotter after having them on for a bit.

I got the Sony's for Christmas, and while I don't have others to compare to, I love them. I have a big head and they're pretty comfortable, I'd say 8/10. Noise cancelling is great, sound is great.

I've worn them at work and at the gym. Highly recommended
