I agree. Read you cap or manual.

Thinner isn't better, generally speaking.

"Thin" oil aids in getting good gas mileage.

It also leaks more readily, and offers less engine protection in the hotter months.

Again, read what the people who built the car say.

Just fyi for those who don't know...most vw, Audi European cars call for 0-40 (especially for those with turbos).

Will this work for my 120k 1996 Tacoma truck? Or too thin or thick? Tia

Check your manual. I doubt it calls for 0w20. Pennzoil has a $10 rebate on top of a Walmart $21 price. I'm sure you can get 5w20 or 5w30 or whatever your model calls for.

Do some research. I'll give you a good start though. First number is cold weight. My opinion is lower the better. Second number is what matters. Don't differentiate on that unless your operation outside of manufacture specs and really know what your doing.

0w-20 will work. Only reason to suggest a 5w-20 is so it doesn't have to be a full synthetic. They can't make conventional oil at a 0w-20 and don't think they can on synthetic blends either. I'm just a guy on the internet so do a little research to confirm. I wouldn't switch between conventional and synthetic, but ymmv.
