Just called AT&T loyalty at 800-331-0500 to see if they had any promos on the Samsung Galaxy S9 and they said I could get the S9 for $324.99 and the S9+ for $425.99 plus tax. This is only available through the loyalty dpt. and you do have to agree to a 2 year contract. Current plan is unlimited plus, not sure if it matters what plan you have to get the deal. I was also offered a free case and waived upgrade fees.

They're actually offering it as a special offer right now at 50% off on NEXT (not contract) with a plan that's a minimum of $45 a month (before discounts). See https://www.att.com/deals/galaxy-S9-offer.html
The price you mentioned is about $70 less than half (is iy a contract or Next payments).

Did you take the offer?
This is just a 2 year contract no next payments. It is different from the offer they currently advertising. And we did not take the deal because I was hoping to also get some free headphones like when we signed a 2 year contract for the Iphone X back in December. She said right now they can't offer free headphones just a free case so I figured I would try again in a couple of days. This offer is only available through their loyalty dpt. regular customer service cannot offer it, is what I was told.
anyone else on family shared plan have success with this? i suck at negotiating, any tips to getting this offered to me? do i literally just ask for it?
I thought they got rid of 2 yr contracts. Any idea if this would work on family shared plans?
They still do 2 year contract but I was told you have to go through loyalty. Best thing to do if you want the deal is call or chat and ask if the offer is available on your account. Make sure you speak with loyalty as regular customer service are not able to offer this deal.

Thanks. Are there any changes to your monthly rate? I think they will remove my $20/month discount for my line if I commit to the 2 yr. Will give them a call this week to check.

Plan didn't change when we did this on the IPhone X upgrade back in December.

Not true, you will receive a credit of max up to $395 in bill credit for 30 months. Basically you are locked in for 30 months.
