Iagree Of the two restaurants I worked in (back in the early 80's) over half of the staff smoked. Which really screws up your senses of smell and taste

Yeah, I am not sure adding Robert back in this season was such a great idea.

To be honest, I don't remember much about him. I just remember people making fun of his weight.

I missed the first episode (didn't realize they showed two episodes the first night). Just watched it on hulu.. God, that was hillarious.. The french toast with tequilla and biscuits and gravy. LOL.. And then that dingbat woman that threw away all that pasta.. That was one of the funniest episodes ever. Although I do feel sorry for the guy that got booted off to make room for Robert. Seems like there were worse people there.

The diner guy who got booted was horrible. He had to go. I think Ramsey saw potential in Robert and that's why he was given a second chance. But IMO he's really screwing that 2nd chance. And IIRC he lost his temper a few times last season too.

It's going to be interesting to see what happens with the guy with the broken wrist.

I was originally pretty happy to see Robert back, though it was clear who the top two were last year and he stood no real chance. Still, I do have to agree that he seems to be completely screwing this amazing second chance.

If Gordon wants someone with ability and deserves a second chance, there's quite a few people in this show's history that might actually deserve it a bit more. For instance, how great would it be to have the Waffle House girl back now that she's (finished?) with culinary school? Or the girl from last season that rolled her ankle in episode 2 or 3 and couldn't keep going?

This show is not about giving a second chance to people that deserve it. It is about entertainment. Robert has no chance to win, he's just been brought back to stir the pot a bit.

Think about it, the show would be pretty boring if it was really about finding the right chef. Basically what would happen is that we'd get 15 guys like Petroza.. Remember him from season 4? He was very laid back, quiet, got along with everyone and seldom made mistakes. I really can't remember him majorly screwing up. Ramsey could only yell at him for being messy. Anyhow, the show is obviously staged. I don't mind because it's entertaining, but getting qualified people is the last thing this show is worried about.

I dont get why they brought Robert back and not the chick from last season who injured herself early on in the competition? She was my vote to win the damn thing..

I despise those type of bully contestants who pile on the person who did poorly unless the person who did poorly is one of the bully/jerks. The screw-ups already feel bad but then the some people seem to think they now have have free reign to go postal on them since the group is against the loser and that it will take any focus off themselves in terms of any errors they made. Some of them will harp on it like its some Lord Of The Flies scenario/mob psychology thing.

Usually these type of people go ballistic when other people screw up and then when they screw up, they go ballistic when anyone accuses them of being terrible.

Well, I missed the episode last night, but I did see the previews for next week.. I will not spoil it, but the previews made it obvious why they invited Robert back.. just more staged drama.. that is all I will say. This season is very over the top. I like some drama, but I liked it better when they made it sort of plausible.

I am going to watch the most recent episode tonight on hulu.

I wonder if that gyrine was really surprised when he walked into Hell's ketchen last night. Seems to me when they put the lipstick & makeup on him beforehand should have tipped him off a bit?
