looks like the Jinvoo Smart plugs. The price is slick compared to prior deals and seem to be going lower and lower. I have 4 and they work perfect with alexa. i don't put them on tv's or anything expensive, just hall lamps and the bubbles on a fish tank. If the chinese really want to blow up my plug they won't get much on me. Now if they hack my wifi well they already have anyway. Me: Puts tin foil hat down and slides away
I have these exact ones. Paid the same. You use the Jinvoo app to set up. It's hooked to my Google home mini. Took 10 min to set up easily and works flawlessly.

Please let me know what incorrect information I posted. This deal got a bunch of thumbs up when it was posted by Iconian last month and it was $19 then.

Seems like a pretty good price, any comments?

I remember reading on some other thread that these smart plugs rely on a connection to a server run by the manufacturer rather than being controlled directly by Google Home or Alexa, and if the manufacturer is obscure and stops running the server they stop working. Is that the case here? Never heard of Epicka before.

I think you are right. I don't think any of these Chinese smart plugs connect directly to Alexa. You always have to download an app to link them to Alexa. I don't understand why Philips doesn't have decent smart plugs which connect directly to their hub like their bulbs. They would make a killing. On the other hand, if you limit the permissions of the app, I don't think the Chinese could gain much from your connection. I may be wrong.

Well, even the big names like tp-link and Dlink don't connect directly to Alexa - you have to set them up on their own apps before connecting to Alexa as well. As someone else mentioned, these use the Jinvoo app, which quite a few of the "no-name" plugs also use. So I don't think you have to worry about Epika closing their server -- you'd have to worry if Jinvoo stopped developing their app and server. And with so many of them using that, I don't anticipate that happening. Of course, I've been wrong before. I'm in for a set. I have some other plugs that use the Jinvoo app and was very easy to set up and use them.

I don't have Alexa goggle home or a hub. Was wondering if I get these for simple items like a lamp. Will I be able to use Google assistant from my phone to control the devices?

Honestly, I'm not sure. But you can download the app and then turn the outlets on or off via the app on your phone and you can also program the outlets like a timer to turn on and off at certain times.

These are great plugs! I have two of these WiFi smart plugs. One of them is this exact model and it works great. Both are used to control lamps so we can turn on and off the lights right from the phone from in bed or even away from home to make it appear like someone is home. They do indeed run from the Jinvoo app but I have not one time experienced an issue with mine. Thank you for posting. Picked up two more.

as mentioned in the 3rd party amazon rules deals from lower rated merchants are allowed if they've been vetted by one of our staff members first. you can tell which merchants these are as they will have been posted by a deal editor or other staff first. in this particular case, iconian posted it previously here Smilie.
