Costco updated the item to backordered status and it can now be ordered again, so I placed an order. It currently shows a 2 to 3 week shipping time and your card will not be charged until it ships. They will however do a preauth at order time, so you will have a pending charge on the card.
Maybe un-expire the deal again? UPDATE 1: I believe I tracked down the 2 camera models that are included in the bundle. Both do have built-in microphones. They are disabled by default for legal reasons and can be enabled via the NVR. 1 x LNK7000 Series NVR, model LNK71082T Manual in PDF : https://www.lorextechno 2 x Dome 4K Camera, model LKE383A Specs: https://www.lorextechno Product page: https://www.lorextechno Quick Start Guide : https://www.lorextechno 2 x Bullet 4K Camera, model LKB383A Specs: https://www.lorextechno Product page: https://www.lorextechno Quick Start Guide : https://www.lorextechno UPDATE 2: Here is the product page for the exact same NVR, but bundled with 4 or 8 2K cameras instead of 4K. There are numerous 5 star reviews so maybe this won't be too bad. https://www.lorextechno |

Thats what makes a great forum.
Quickly, based on the thread so far
1) NVR looks good from the back as it includes alarm i/o ports - thats a plus.
2) Bullet camera spec, imaging chip is larger than many other cameras 1/2.3" 8MP - good news typically.
3) It is really a "4K" camera as it does 15 fps, which of course is a bit short of any proper 4K TV spec. This is typical right now for 4K security cameras - the ones we can afford are currently 15-20fps. Should be ok for most of our uses.
4) "Color night vision" - a bit of a marketing fluff term, as all cameras with enough ambient light should provide color. The camera spec sheet does not indicate what chip is actually in the camera, but the larger size of the chip should make it a better camera for low light provided they used new chip tech.
( the Dahua OEM starlight cameras at 2mp should still beat this camera )
5) Metal case? - very important question for me, while for many of us it may not be as great of an issue since all the Ring, Nest, and Arlo cameras we have been using are "plastic" cases. I do like the larger squarish bullets as they have a nice solid metal case.
6) Turret vs Mini-bullet here - both work well, some like the turret better for various reasons.
7) The cameras may not officially be ONVIF - however we have found that some non-ONVIF listed lorex cameras do have a available rtsp feed and thus will work with Blue Iris.
8) I expect there to be a web interface on the camera - and it should be accessible similar to the other Dahua OEM lorex cameras in the other kits we have documented here on SD.
9) Remember if you want fancier features, Dahua OEM cameras have a feature set labelled as IVS ( Q-see calls them IVA ) and those are disabled in lorex products, you may need to look at pricier Dahua OEM cameras. The IVS features are better than normal motion detection. Note the motion detection in the lorex cameras here should allow you greater control than others. Also note motion detection tech is not yet as good as we would like it to be.
Over all the kit looks decent, and looks like you should be able to add some Dahua OEM cameras you can source from chinese vendors - I like to add Dahua OEM 2mp starlights, as they get better low light images. 8mp cameras are great for daytime events, and these 8mp cameras should compare well to other wired cameras you may buy in a kit.
Big plus, if you're on a tight budget these cameras will beat all those cloud dependent setups in terms of quality of image as well as reliability.
I think this kit works well for someone in a modest or smaller home / house - if you have a large place you may want to be able to add more than 8 cameras to your setup.

We need to determine and confirm the OEM, once we do that we can then find possible solutions outside of the Lorex tech support line - remember, the best people working on those lines should be finding better paying work, so do not expect top talent to remain in a low paying customer support call center.
Q: Do you see a second account on the cameras? ( besides admin )

I have another of the same camera's (LKE383A) still new in box that I could pull out if that would be helpful.
//Edit -- I plugged the new one in and this is the "Users" screen.

Most of the Lorex IP PoE cameras I have seen on their site are clearly Dahua OEM, this kit however I suspect may not be.
Ideally if you can find out the OEM we can find out more info online on resetting.
Often there is something on the cameras board which allows a factory reset, so you may have to somehow get into the case.
In some cameras there is a 'door' to the microSD slot and next to it is a switch or contacts you can enable to reset during a power cycle.

But the problem is not able to change the default pwd admin. In real world example user should have been able to i guess create 2nd user id and pwd and than disable admin id and pwd (user 1), but in lorex case what i have noticed is as soon as u change the pwd for user 1, and click on save, the software flir 12 logs you out. And after that, you can not login again. Also there is no way to enable user 2 directly without doing anything to user 1 acct, as the system prompts you to change the pwd i think.
Yes - this is indeed a problem, and one which ( iirc ) Dahua OEM products do not have - so it really has me wondering what is going on with this particular kit, and thus why I suspect it is not a Dahua OEM product.
I believe you can get 3 ft and 6 ft SATA to eSATA cables so distance shouldn't be a problem.

Tried plugging directly back into NVR, but it says it can't find network and gives it a 0.0.0.0 IP. Unfortunately, I had set a static IP for my network already. I've tried setting the static ip for the camera in the NVR to see if it would also try and connect, but it just resets it to 0.0.0.0 after a few seconds. It can see the the camera when it is plugged in, and even shows that it knows it's firmware version 0020.

The ID range I've got from this system is pretty bad at night, consistance with (https://ipcamtalk.com/threads/new...oad.28235/). Considering returning and going the Dahua OEM route through Empiretech but this was such a great deal.
Thanks for the photos, I'm not very knowledgeable about the internals of this style of camera.
( I did not see any clear pins for a factory reset... )
If this is a Dahua the Dahua config tool should be useful:
https://dahuawiki.com/Software/Dahua_Toolbox
Recommend going to ipcamtalk and posting:
"Help looking for reset on IP PoE camera from Lorex, unknown OEM"
and sharing the pictures.
I would also type in the text that you see on the boards, as well as search for that text and seeing if you get a hit.
Also include some screen shots from the display UI.
Some of the members there are very knowledgeable
( what does the board have printed on it next to the pins circled? see attached photo )

The pins have a connector that plugs in and goes to the other side of the casing... assuming microphone or IR LED power or something.
Anyone have any idea if this is a Dahua NVR?

Clearly this NVR has issues adding Dahua OEM cameras, thus we suspect it is not a Dahua OEM product and as I mentioned do not know the OEM at this time.
I would see if this NVR has and ONVIF setting and see if you can configure your Q-see ( which iirc is ONVIF ) to talk ONVIF to the NVR and hopefully that will get the functionality you need.

Has anyone been able to find extra cameras for this kit? at less than $100 each?
Seems like a one off purchase from Lorex which is no longer supported!
I'm out $450!
