I like the 1st Cast of M*A*S*H episodes over the 2nd. Not that they weren't good episodes & cast, but the writing was different...more political in the 2nd half.

I get what they were trying to do, but I'd rather watch it to laugh than to have a political moment.

None the less, I've seen every episode several times.

A lot of those later episodes where they were produced to be political were directed and/or written by Alan Alda if I remember correctly.

The thing that gets me though is, try watching the movie version of M*A*S*H from 1970. It's definitely more of a dramedy and pretty light on the comedy portion if you ask me. I watched it the one night on I think one of the Starz sub channels and it was almost putting me to sleep.
