6.2 rating from BGG. It appears to be a party game that works well with all ages. Based on the dice tower video review, nongamers would likely enjoy this game but gamers (if you are familiar with BGG or the dice tower then you are probably a gamer) would likey lose interest.

I told my cousin about this game, and she whipped this up within an hour using Scattegories lists:

Fooling around with it I noticed that if you press the "start" button a few times it gets sort of wonky. Just a heads up in case anyone planned on using this.

Is my seven year old too young for this?

TIA

Wow, that's cool.

Some feedback: after the 15 seconds are up, it immediately gives the next topic. That's not how the game is usually played. It ought to have some audible/visual alert that time is up (perhaps change the background color of the page), but then leave that topic visible, and not start the next one til someone clicks Start again.

Also, I agree that this is a fun/silly party game and very easy for anyone to pick up, but more serious gamers will quickly lose interest.

A game like this is unlikely to be more fun than a videogame. If you goal is to replace videogames then you will need to introduce them to some good boardgames. I would start with Ticket to Ride, Carcassonne, or even Sushi Go (all can be found at Target/Walmart). From there you can expand to some really exceptional games found on BGG. https://boardgamegeek.com/browse/boardgame

Got this the last time this deal popped up here. We played it this weekend. Certainly was a "simple" game but was quick fun without too many instructions and had good laughs about some of it.

Yes you could basically make this on your own but for 9 bucks well worth it.

And it should work for kids pretty well just as nicely.

Thanks.. they had dedicated videogame time which they are not going to give up.. but I'm finding ways to keeping them occupied when they are not playing their videogames.. Usually that would be reading from the ipad/kindle which again is electronics time in my mind.. I have a few board games already but would keep the ones you suggested..

I would suggest Betrayal at House on the Hill as a better bet to get (older) kids interested in board games.

If they already like videogames, the Fallout boardgame or This War of Mine might be a good as well. They are based on the video games. TWoM is a bit dark so maybe not for the younger kid. Fallout has some flaws but a lot of people like it. If they are star wars fans, then Star Wars Rebellion is also great because it allows you to relive the movies and it plays a lot like a strategy videogame.
