IMO Samsung 860 EVO is a way better deal, just $20 more when it goes on sale, they don't even compare I should say, if you an SSD now, then go for it, not a bad deal at the moment (If you have a Microcenter Store nearby grab a $5 coupon from Retailme-Not, they have Samsung Evo 860 for $115, $110 AC, in stores only BTW)
Great deal, but I agree with the other comments, pay the extra $20-30. And get the 860 evo. Still if you don't care and just want a cheap 500 GB ssd, this ones not bad.

Numbers wise yes, Samsung is no doubt better. In real life, you won't notice so much

Agreed, you will never see any difference unless we are talking about the latency sensitive data base applications, read and write speeds, TBW...etc, any SSD drive will do the job just fine for 99% of home users.
It's just me, I rather pay $20 more and get the best warranty and endurance than this HP drive, my peace of mind is worth more than $20.
I Returned Mine-- read speed 480 Write Speed 220 Several test could not get the write speed up switched ports everything!
New Drive Same connection 520 Read 500+ Writes consistently!

Tier 1 Brand best deal on the 500GB
New Drive Same connection
I honestly can't remember the last time I tried to get something fixed through a warranty. This is a good backup though
