They're ok. I've been working in the water biz for almost a decade. The general consensus these days from manufacturers of store bought machines is if you get more than 5 years out of it consider yourself lucky. The quality of components and thickness of material used inside is designed to last 5 years max

bottom loader, so need to carry and potentially slip and slide. it's normally $180 but mark down to $150.

Bottom loader is easier but more expensive.

I've been looking at these but we also have a small water pipe meant for a coffeemaker nearby that's not in use. There any options to connect that pipe to a water dispenser like this?

I completely agree with that comment. I got one and it's no longer cool in a year or so. Ended up give it away on CL.

Saw one (different brand) on Costco yesterday for the same price. I think I will go with them just for the return policy in case in breaks.

this should be built like an appliance.. $150 isn't exactly cheap, let alone paying regular price. who buys refrigerators every 5 years? even the small portable refrigerators typically last over a decade. we've had the same refrigerator for nearly 20 years..
it's a shame that they don't last longer since the internals are far less complex than a typical appliance such a refrigerator.

I don't know the range of their delivery service, but I have Primo delivered. The bottles are only $0.50 more than what they would cost at the store and I get a better dispenser than this for free. There is no minimum bottle order after the first order either. I've had a couple monthly deliveries where I got behind on using the water and requested no bottles and I'm still keeping the dispenser for free. So, depending on where you live if this service is available, it would be silly to pay for the dispenser.

I have a bottom loading primo. It's been over 5 years easily and it is still working perfectly. I do not use the hot water function at all but cold water is perfect. I get refills from the home improvement stores or Staples.

Not a fan of bottom loaders. The water flow rate hardly ever lasts in these things. It goes from an ok stream, to barely a trickle in a few years. The easiest way to avoid that problem is a top load dispenser. Besides aesthetics, I can't imagine any other reason to get this.

I've had this one for a year and it's been great. Water comes out seriously cold. I can put it in a yeti cup without ice and it's still cold at the end of the day after sitting in my car. Water also comes out hot enough to make tea. Obviously, I can't speak to durability but so far so good. https://jet.com/product/Whirlpool...b8e1857ca2
