Just download the update assistant and run it. The latest build of Win 10 will install. I've upgraded lots of computers over the last few months that way, no problems. MS just wants everyone on Win 10 from what I can figure, so they've left ways to do it.
No. Just use the media creation tool to create an install USB drive. Enter in your windows code or it will pull it from he BIOS.
Yes, I did this couple of days back on a used HP desktop with 8 pro as the COA (embedded in BIOS). Upgraded to 8.1 pro and then to 10 pro. Installation didn't prompt for key at all. Windows shows as activated.
Super interested... but is it possible these machines were used vigorously for mining and are on their last breath? I know they're refurb, but that doesn't mean they'll work for long... hmm
I would guess probably not, judging solely from the 970. It was marketed at 4 GB GDDR5, but was later to be found containing only 3.5 GB and the current gen GPUs have double to triple that amount.
