Can't wait to start building the new rig!
Cool. Make us PC builders proud and make her sexy. That's what's it all about for true builders and the satisfaction of the work
Just what I need! Building a mATX rig and was looking at getting a 1080.

Current price for these at Newegg:
EVGA 1080 SC Gaming - $470
EVGA 750w G3 - $104

That's like getting the PSU for FREE!

Should I bite or wait for the 11 series like everybody says?

In my honest opinion, I don't see why everyone needs to jump on new releases. I built PCs for my son and me a few years back. Both running gtx 770. I jumped on a 1070 last year before the price jump. He's still throwing current games on his. Granted, the games look much better on mine, his tech is still running today. If you are about saving money, buy a current deal. The new tech will eventually get cheaper unless we see another Bitcoin like arise. Again, this is my opinion.

PS.. I did get a 1070 for his PC on a deal not to long ago but haven't installed it yet. I have this same psu, it's beautiful. Modular was the best thing that they have done to PSUs.

I can second that- built my PC about 6 years ago- running an old amd "8" (but really 4 ) core processor and a hand me down 970... I don't game much, but I still get 60fps on anything that matters. Save your money. Let other people pay the price to adopt/fund new tech.

Edit- my psu finally died after 6 years of service in a home with two large dogs... got this one a few weeks ago and it really is nice.

Hmmm... could you buy this, use the EVGA upgrade policy to get an 1180 when it comes out and keep the power supply? How would that work?

Isn't the step-up policy 90 days after purchase? You think the 1180 will be out by then? I'm sure EVGA will allow it since this promo is B&H's.

Pretty sure. Nvidia is launching the 1180 mid-this month. I'd bet that 3rd parties will drop their cards within 70 days or so of that unless they're deliberately avoiding doing so.

I'm waiting for the new releases to see the performance gains of next-gen and the hopes that new releases will push last gen cards down even further, that's my whole reason for holding out.

This deal we're looking at here is enticing to some degree, if you need a PSU for your current build or your next build. I do, but I'm still going to hold out. I've been waiting for two years to replace my GPU, so what's another couple months at this point?

If you watch reviews on Youtube, average MSRP was around $649 which was a little over 2 years ago. That's just crazy!
