This monitor supports freesync, has a 5ms response time, 75Hz refresh rate and low input lag to provide a good 1080p gaming experience. At this price point there isn't a better option (especially if you need IPS), I have this monitor and it's fantastic using Freesync, the only negative is edge-light bleed when the screen is totally black. I have no desire to mount my monitors so it doesn't bother me but there is no VESA mount on this monitor.

If gaming, choose this one. The HP is brighter but 60hz is not enough for freesync. Also the HP is much worse response time. It says 5ms under some sort of boost but 12ms typical. This LG says 1ms under boost and 5ms normal
