Sony has far and away the best picture, followed by the Vizio. The TCL picture is not quite as good as Vizio and not in same league as Sony. To be clear though, this TCL's picture still blows away my neighbors' Samsung and LG LCD sets and is significantly better than my parents' Vizio M.
Where the TCL really shines is (pun intended) its brightness. It has the brightest picture of my three sets, meaning it actually looks the best in our bright living room.
The TCLs Roku interface is also great. Sony's android implementation is full of app bloatware, ads, and unintuitive settings. It is ugly, horrible and difficult. IMO they should be ashamed. You should really just say F it and connect an Apple TV or Fire TV (you probably should anyway but with the Sony it's a must unless you want to spend hours screwing with settings or like seeing full screen adware.)
Vizio's Smartcast setup is better but it's a little hard to figure out and tries to do too much with smart home routines and stuff other than TV. You could live with it, though.
The TCL Roku interface is fantastically easy. My 70-year-old mother-in-law figured it all out without trouble. Other than the weird side placement of the volume on the remote, it all makes sense and takes minutes to set up.
So I would absolutely buy this TV again. With the Sony I keep thinking I should have forked over a few hundred mire for an LG OLED.
I would say you need to expect at least some imbalance in screen uniformity. My 55 has what I would consider a 4 out of 10 in this dept. During certain content I see the DSE which is slight thin strips that appear slightly darker than the in screen content.
I see this roughly. 10% of my viewing time. I kept the 55 because the picture is out standing and I paid $540 for a true hdr set with very low input lag. I went from a Plasma with perfect uniformity but there is zero doubt the 6 series has a better picture in every measurable facet minus uniformity.
All of them. Have slightly darker corners regardless of panel however it's at the very corners and is difficult for. Me to notice. Most times.
Oleds have banding issues. If I paid $2000 for a TV with banding I'd be upset. Paying $540 or just under $900 for this size with the screen uniformity I have is perfectly acceptable in my opinion.
Also I consider the roku interface the best and I'm a heavy user of the smart content.

I can only speak for the TCL but it's great. Definitely worth it at this price.
