Cheaper at Amazon [amazon.com] if you're okay with used.

i got in on the $60 gourmia sous vide non-bluetooth last week on here for $60. cooked one of the best steaks ive ever had in my life. going to start looking into cooking chicken next. if youve been on the fence about sous vide, i can not recommend it enough.
I've been cooking for over a year with this device. If you haven't tried it you really should. I don't care how good you are on the grill, you will never cook a steak as good as you can with this device.

I have the butcher cut me 2 inch strips and when done the center is the exact same color/doneness as the edges. No one can do that with a grill.

If you think that's wrong go ask the chef at Ruth Chris or any top end steak joint. It's how they are cook their steaks.

This is an awesome price! Been using this for the past few months on eggs, chicken, steaks and pork chops. They've all turned out great.

Got this a while back. If your on the fence about trying it, like I was....just buy it. Makes the best chicken breasts I've ever had. Steaks and roasts are awesome too.

Is it better to get a model that uses Bluetooth or Wi-Fi?

I think they're both unnecessary. The wifi is technically better if you really feel you'll use remote connectivity because of the range.

I agree with genericvn.

In my experience Bluetooth & Wi-Fi are of almost no benefit for sous vid.

Wi-Fi has the benefit over Bluetooth of letting you monitor things from more than 30 feet away. You can even use their cloud to change temps from work.

But sous vide recipes do not have temperature changes....and they are very forgiving if you leave the food in too long. 95% of the time you will just start with your end time being dinner time, and just set and forget.

I love my Anova that has both Wi-Fi/Bluetooth...it is just not a feature that matters to me or the others I have talked to who own one.

I have the BT model. The WiFi is nice because you can set everything up and kick it off remotely. That said, I don't even use the BT on mine anymore. I usually just look up the temps in the app, then use the little jog dial to set the right temp and start it. I guess the WiFi would be helpful for long cooks so that you can monitor the progress and restart it if the power goes out.

You don't need no Soup De Vede. It's more garbage to put in the kitchen drawer. Just throw the steak on the charcoal grill like a man.

The best use of the WiFi feature, I believe, is so that you can leave your food in an ice bath, and you will be alerted when the water hits a certain temp. You will also have the ability to start the cooking process from work according to what time you'll be home and the food will be perfect by the time you get there.
