Hi Guys,

EDIT: 9/1/18. SORRY FOR MY WRONG COMPUTATION!

For those who are looking for a 144hz refresh rate and gtx1060 6gb with thunderbolt 3. Check the link below to configure your laptop from HP (HP OMEN 2018 with nice thin vezel specifically) and Free Shipping. I configured mine as:

-i7 with gtx 1060 6gb
-8gb RAM
-144hz screen
-1TB hdd 7200rpm with 128gb SSD

It totaled to $1469.99. However, you can add 20% discount if your order is more than $1399.99. So mine ended up to $1175.99 plus $104.37 tax a total of $1280.37.

Moreover, if your order is more than $1799.99, the discount will be 25%

DISCOUNT CODE:
15% off orders $899+ with code 15GAMER
20% off orders $1,399+ with code 20GAMER
25% off orders $1,799+ with code 25GAMER

https://store.hp.com/us/en/Config...ptop---15t

Is it better than acer predator helios 300? To me yes. I mean look at the vezel on the predator, it's huge. Plus the predator helios doesn't have thunderbolt 3 and this one has it. And the price is not much of difference when you put in all the discount code in HP and you get a better looking laptop with thunderbolt 3.

Does the $1319.99+tax put it over the $1400 total to get the 20% discount? You're right, his math does seem off.

Just some personal experience with these laptops, they're bad. I purchased one in the past year and returned it quickly. The space bar required a good amount of pressure to work, the laptop itself was very bulky and heavy, and some of the navigation buttons near numpad have been replaced with omen hotkeys(which is really bad if you're a coder), and you aren't allowed to modify most Omen variants. Imo spend $150-$200 more and get a CUK/Sager/Eluktronics; they're way lower profile and you can typically mod them freely.

The last year's model was bad according to reviews but this is a new model. Look at reviews in youtube and the improvement they've made.

Sorry If i messed up my math but my configuration price went upto $1469.99. However, since it's labor day it deducted $150 off right away and then I added the 20% discount on top of that because my price was over $1399 (originally without the labor day discount) so my total went down to $1175.99 then they charge me a tax of $104.37 that gave me a total of $1280.36. Just try the config that you want and add on the discount code. See if you will like the price. As long as your config went above $1399 without the automatic labor day discount then you can add the 20% discount.

Your math is bad. The code is off the full price. Doesn't stack I tried. Same as deal https://slickdeals.net/f/11804771-hp-omen-laptop-17t-gaming-laptop-20-off-with-coupon-code-owl2018-for-cofigs-over-1099-gtx-1050-1060-1070
Sorry for my bad math. But as I was saying. My total was supposed to be $1469.99 but since it's labor day there's an automatic $150 off that gave me a price of $1319.99. They based the additional 20% discount from $1469.99 not from $1319.99 so that's why my total went down to $1175.99 then I have to pay a tax of $104.37. Get it?

Yea I'm sorry I got really excited when I posted this so I made some wrong computations. They don't actually include the labor day discount if you add the 20% discount.

They based the 20% discount from the original price which was $1469.99. Tax is not included from the discount.

Use Raise in conjunction with Top Cashback for an additional 18% off/back.

Use Top Cashback to purchase HP gift cards from Raise (2% back + 6.2% off).

Then use Top Cashback and giftcards to purchase laptop at HP (10% off).

I just picked up a refurbished 2018 model with the 1080 GTX, and am using it now. The keyboard on here is awesome. Mechanical keys definitely feel awesome and precise. The spacebar is just fine. The only "Omen" keys are above the number pad, not surrounding arrow keys at all.

The only bad points:
The front edge of the wrist rest area has a fairly sharp edge that feels bad if the laptop is higher than it should be. If your laptop is at the proper height and your wrist are elevated slightly, you won't encounter it.
There's only a single USB port on the left and right sides. I would really prefer two on each side.
The programmable macro keys on the left side - I frequently hit the P1 key when I want the ESC key. I'm sure I'll get used to it, or just program P1 to do ESC.

The good points:
Very metal, very premium feel, especially with the mechanical keyboard.
You can turn off all the fancy lighting, or make it super custom.
Not a ton of bloatware. Just the standard McAfee and MS Office Trials, there might be a couple more, but not bad, compared to other laptops I've worked on and set up for friends/family. I think there's more bloatware that is part of every Win10 install than was added by HP.

From Woot's refurbished area:
Here's the actual one purchased - https://computers.woot.com/offers...nt_wp_3_24

No more available now, but there are a couple minor variations of the 1070-powered version available. Stay away from the previous models, which are also available for a couple hundred less at the same place - https://computers.woot.com/plus/g..._cp_4_wp_3 - Easy way to tell the difference is the new, good ones have the two hinges, older ones have the large central hinge.
