P.S. Be gentle this is my first posting. I have been shopping myself for a good deal on a 17" gaming laptop and came across this. I'd appreciate any feedback and/or tips.
I'm debating the cheaper option here as it still seems like a good deal on a 17" gaming with 8th gen I7 and a GTX 1060 w/ G-Sync, 144hz display, Thunderbolt. etc. Haven't priced addding more RAM and a decent SSD separately but I would definitely do the SSD and likely more RAM.
Edit: Option 3 with the GTX 1070 seems pretty nice. Not any other 7" laptops with 8th gen I7's and 1070's for under $1400.

I just wonder if $1400 for 1070+144hz Gsync+17" is worth it over the $1000 microcenter 15" GTX 1060 deal.
Shopping for a gaming laptop is stressful. Especially when these GPUs are 2+years old at this point.

I agree. My microcenter 15" is still within the return period. I'll probably keep it. I like it and with the TB3 port I could always get an eGPU someday if I really wanted a better video card. I thought about building a desktop but in the end, how many people reuse the case and power supply? The motherboard, CPU, memory, etc. would all change anyway and a case and power supply is really not a big part of the overall cost. And, the desktop CPU (i7-8700) is really only about 20% faster if that.

EDIT: Nevermind, went ahead and placed it today - just in case. Going with 8GB and no SSD. Will upgrade those myself. Thanks OP!
