Then there's more confusion because the same model released in India has NFC but no compass, while the US version has compass but no NFC. And of course the LTE bands vary.
At $200, I'm not sure it isn't a better idea to buy an older flagship, made for you specific carrier (so you at least have the option of VOLTE and wifi calling), and of which you know has good specs all around. By BF, LG G6, LG V20, Galaxy S7 and whatever is HTC's 2016 flagship will probably be under $250 for legit, new in box.

Yes. Just walk in to little caesar's, show them this phone and they'll give you a hot and ready in exchange for money.

Looking at the specs, it doesn't seem too different from the Moto G6. Any thoughts from the cell experts out there?

phone. but camera blows

If you want the best camera, buy a pixel 2; nothing can touch it and it's been proven over, and over. Crapple, huawei (pretty poor IMO), Samsung, Moto, etc., none can beat it. It's surprising that no other company can produce the same quality, but that's where we are. My advide is to just bite the bullet if you want the best camera. I'm waiting on the pixel 3 (hoping they don't suck) and it should be out next month.
Still, if you want an X4 - and I DO like the phone - this is a good price. The performance is great. Caveat - I'm not a gamer. I might consider spending more and getting the AO version from project Fi. It's $50 more and you'll have to buy at least one month of service (~$25), but you'll get updates, and exceptional service should you ever need it. All these other phone companies (except crapple) ignore you after you buy. I don't think I'll ever buy Samsung again due to their heavy handed mods and poor update record, but that's a different discussion.
