This deal is back (in stock on September 3) with cheaper price on 128G and the same price on 256G to last deal.

Amazon has the 256GB version of MyDigitalSSD M.2 SATA SSD for $59.99, or the 128GB version for $34.99.

This is a M.2 2242 short version suitable for some Chromebooks, Direkt-Tek laptops from Walmart or Trekstor Primebook C11.

Sold and shipped by MyDigitalDiscount.

This is a M.2 2242 short version mainly used for Chromebooks or some Thinkpads that only have 1 2242 slot for a SSD. A regular sata 2.5" drive or a 2280 one would be better for many that have spare slots.

Are these available anywhere in 512GB size?

Just bought it for a DirectTek win10 laptop from Walmart. The laptop is fine but Win10 needs more than 32 GB for update, exceeding its 32GB storage.

Microsoft is quite inept in its OS size - chromebook, android, macos, linux all use far less.

There are not many m2 2242 sellers, and few sales. Some Chinese sellers/brands have it cheaper but I am not convinced to go cheap. MyDigital is a good brand (rebranded Intel?), good reviews.

Does this work as the non-nvme m2 B-keyed drive plugged into thisPCIE to m2 adapter card [amazon.com]?

I have the 2242 on my Lenovo IdeaPad. So much better than the crap they sent with it. Had it in for like 3 years and working fine. Now the hinges popping through the bottom of the screen and the touchpad losing responsiveness are different stories...it's just a small factor desktop now!

Haha you're really making lemonade out of that lemon! Next time go the ThinkPad line instead of IdeaPad and you'll get better value/longevity ;-)

Yes, if you use the top slot and plug in the SATA connector.

Is this a better drive than this other 128gb selling for $33?

This (size) can also be used in current Alienware laptops (17r5 and r4 as well as 15r4 and r3) and I don't know much about the performance of this:

https://m.newegg.com/products/9SI...lsrc=aw.ds

but Newegg has a couple options in the large (512gb) size.

That gives them pretty massive onbord storage possibilities, with the 2.5" bay plus the two m.2 2280 slots (one being nvme) and the m.2 2242 slot rounding things off.

None of currently available M.2 SATA SSD in 500GB/512GB size are better than or even equal to this model, in terms of performance and endurance. You could wait for LiteOn T11 PLUS which is NVME SSD though.
