Fry's 65" LG C8 OLED TV $2199 Haggled YMMV

Fry's has some flexibility on the 65" C8 pricing. If you ask for their best price, individual stores will vary.

In another forum, a guy picked it up for $2199 plus tax. It's good for people who want to have their TV today and not deal with shipping.

Quote from AVSForum :
Just FYI. Swing by a local Fry's today to check the 65C8 price, the tag price is still $2999. Chatted with the sales representative and talked about the online price, then she checked on the internal system and offered $2199 plus same day delivery, of course with tax. Total price still not the best but it may help to relieve the anxiety for some people afraid of buying from uncertainty and concern about shipping.

Serious question. How long do we think until the 75-77" OLEDs get to this price range? 2 years? More? Less? With how fast the 65" dropped I'm going to put my money on sooner rather than later. But this is a great deal and makes me question when I should just make the purchase for one

I would say about 15-18 months. They don't have the right factories (Gen 10.5) to make it affordable now. They are also capacity constrained in general. That's part of the reason why Sony doesn't have a 77" model this year.

In 4Q2019, LG's new Chinese Gen 10.5 factory will be open. The 75-77" aren't especially suited for their current 8.5 Gen factory, as it's geared for 55" TVs. It wastes a lot of material for the 65" and 77" OLED TVs, that's why there is a big jump in price in sizes. The Gen 10.5 factory is geared for 65" and higher sizes. Between lower cost Chinese labor and less raw material waste, LG will be able to lower prices to compete better against LCD panels in the 75" range.

Which Black Friday? Black Friday in spring, Black Friday in July, or Black Friday Black Friday?

Try never. Production costs prohibit it... unless it's a demo model or something of a year old unit, I'm thinking never on OLED that size.

I'm able to get the C8 from www.greentoe.com for $2249 with tax and shipping included. I offered $2150 and their counter is $2249. That's worth it!

except the likely higher vast volume of the 65" versus the 77" should make a difference in the price drops

I seriously doubt the 77" OLED price will be near this price anytime in the near future

and then by that time Samsung's micro LED should see the light of day any way along with 8K and whatever version of hdmi and hdcp we are on at that time

Congrats! $2199 with no tax is an awesome deal. That's a sweet $150 savings over $2249 at BuyDig and Greentoe.

I thought this deal would get more traction, since they can pick it up same day. The prices are better than other b&m. The same day TV exchanges are great for buyers. They don't have to wait a week for a replacement as they would with online vendors.

That's a great price if you're buying it right now. Can add the costco 3 year squaretrade for $99 too.

The YMMV part is why it didn't take off. My local Fry's declined to get within even $500 of that price.
