First one is 1.7'x12'x20.5", 225 pounds, which is 3x as wide (long?) and 25% higher than the second one.

The specifications section of listing page (Item # 146404 Model # AP-20-MP6) states: "Platform standing area of 39.5-in x 12-in, height of 20.56-in"
Any Werner 3-4 foot work stand is still a great deal for @$20 each... so perhaps get the 375lb stand for the hubby and his pressure washer and/or get the 225lb stand for the wife, a gallon of paint and her favorite paint applicators..
(then borrow her's as needed, lol)

That makes much more sense. A twelve foot one would be unwieldy as well as probably sagging a ton in the middle.
