Dont think, just buy and blend it.
It makes eating so much easier. Fresh fruit and vegetables in soup, shakes and recipes for days. So much better then store bought crap.

I like the presets on this thing too. The over-load error is a safety feature. It just means you put too much stuff in the Jar! I did get the message once and was upset at first. Then I picked up the Jar and it was SUPER HEAVY, and thought , gee, I didn't know it was that heavy. It puts a strain on the motor, so to protect the motor it gives that "error message".
As you start to use this blender you figure out what works and doesn't work, how much stuff to put in and how much liquid, then... after you learn that, it's easy to apply that principle in all your mixes.

I have not needed to use any tamper on this device in the stuff I made, because I adapt the ingredients so it works for me.
If you needed a tamper you can get the one that alternate jar company sells for 20 dollars ( lid and tamper) that works for the blendtec, but I didn't order it because I don't need it yet. IF I do need it in the future I will pick one up.
I own this it is amazing. Highly recommend and wish got for this price
