Just purchased one of these on Amazon [amazon.com] after checking out some reviews on it. It's $100 off regular price and they're not the easiest monitor to find in stock. B&H [bhphotovideo.com]has them for the same price, but they are currently out of stock.

I had this monitor and sadly I had bad yellow discoloration on each side of the screen were it curves, returned it and got the Alienware AW3418DW;however, this monitor was perfect if on everything else.

This is an amazing deal. However, I'm debating whether I should go with 32" 1440 (16:9) or 34" 1440 (21:9), which I'm having right now. Urghhhh... Anyway, just bought it. I will try to compare with my 34" and will update later.

If you're only going to play shooters then stick with the 240hz monitor. For all other games or general work, it's better to get the 1440p

If it is an MVA panel, might as well go for the ultrawide 34" variant at 3440x1440 to get more space IMHO, the Acer/AOC 34" MVA variant has been on sale for $700 or less in the past I think.

Granted, those 34" variants only go up to 100hz/120hz and not 144hz like this one, to each their own.

A 4ms response is actually very good for gaming. There are monitors that advertise as low as 1 ms, but when tested they sometimes do between 5-8ms. Best thing is to go on a site like Youtube and check out the various benchmarks and see how well that specific monitor does, especially in gaming.

That's one of the reasons I purchased it. Was upgrading from a 27" inch ASUS I've had for about 4 years and I think the current optimal resolution for gaming is at 1440p. If you go with a lower resolution, then keep in mind how far back you are from the monitor when you game, because you don't want to go too big on monitors with lower resolution if you plan to be close to the monitor. The other thing to consider is what kind of games you are playing. The advantage with these, or even the 34-35" ultrawides, is that you see more of the game which can give you a significant advantage over other players without widescreen monitors.
