$749 Apple iPhone XR / XS / XS Max $999 $1099

2,435 283 September 12, 2018 at 01:06 PM in Computers (11) Apple Store
Pre-order starts this Friday the 14th.

Can someone provide some cues for Apple? The biggest decline in the stock market is coming in as few as 6 months and the fallout will make 2009 looks like a Disney movie, yet AAPL is keeping the price the same as last year...

HAHAHAHHAAH!!!

I'm not a fan of Apple (just gave away the only device I've ever had from them), but isn't $850-$1,000 the new norm for a flagship large-screen/phablet phone? The Note 128GB is $1,000, Galaxy S9+ 64GB is $839, and Pixel 2 XL 128GB is $949 (all MSRP).

This isn't an Apple-only thing, but it drives me absolutely crazy that manufacturers still use storage as the primary factor for price differentiation. There is a $150 difference between the Xs 64GB and Xs 128GB, yet the delta cost increase for that extra storage on the build side has to be only a tiny percentage of that. Even high quality storage is cheap, especially in the bulk any larger manufacturer is buying.

thats a good point. Google is really laying a egg though because the price isnt really worth it, they take off the headphone jack and limit storage like apple does. Atleast Samsung is providing 128 for the base note Plus additional storage.

I dont like the trend though. I have a hard time placing value in a phone that cost more than 500 personally.

Not to be pedantic but:

iPhone XS $999 N/A $1,149 $1,349

Even if you can predict the market direction correctly you'd still lose because you still need 3 other attributes to win:

1. prediction, forecasting: directional strategy
2. entry: timing strategy
3. profit target, minimizing losses: exit strategy
4. psychology: mental stability during ups/downs and collecting data to support your thesis aka direction

Stay in school kids, trading is not a CAREER for you.
If you could do #1 reliably and consistently the other three would pretty much fall into place with little effort.

Yep, that's my bad. But even a jump from 64GB to 256GB for $150 is still ridiculous from a pure hardware perspective.

That amount of flash storage comes at a premium. Even the MacBook Pro still comes with 256GB.

You probably never heard of options market. #2 on my list is more important than #1 on my list.
