This new device includes 1.5 GB of DDR4 RAM, 8GB internal storage, and a 1.7 GHz quad-core CPU, and Technologies PowerVR GE8300 GPU. From looking at these specs, it appears that this new Firestick will be more powerful than the Fire TV 3!

The Fire TV Stick 4K will support Dolby Vision, HDR10, and HDR10+. It also supports Dolby Atmos surround sound, which the true audiophiles have been waiting for in a streaming device.

Amazon will also be showcasing their new WiFi antenna technology in this device, that they created themselves. This new device will include dual-band, dual-antenna Wi-Fi (MIMO) for faster streaming and fewer dropped connections than standard Wi-Fi. Supports 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi networks.

One very noticeable upgrade is the new remote that will come with the Fire TV Stick 4K. You will now be able to control your compatible TV, sound bar, and receiver with the new power, volume, and mute buttons. Best of all, you can do everything with the voice-activated feature, similar to the Amazon Fire TV Cube.

Wow when this come out? Seems amazon doesn't create much hype when introducing new products.

Seems those extra buttons for volume, power on / off, if they work with HDMI CEC (or whatever it is called) to turn off TV and such, it may remove the need of the side click (which i love btw) remote for many of the folks.

Well I understand but the previous one was not a real app as such. It was a wrapper app which just pointed to the TV version of the website.
There is an app called Smart Youtube (something like that) which is probably a real youtube app you can use.

And I will tell you how not having the app worked for me. I browse youtube for random stuff. While my kid watches peppa pig etc cartoons. So if he starts watching youtube where i see my stuff, i will start getting all cartoon recommendations and such.
But with the old youtube app which asks for opening it in firefox or silk, i open it in silk when i am using, for him we open in firefox so the recommendations etc all stay separate. Just a use case I wanted to mention.

I would wait a few more weeks after general availability to see if they have better deals during BF.
I have version 1 and 2 sticks, version 2 fireTV, and fireTV pendant. I use the version 2 stick while traveling last week, and the fireTV and fireTV pendant on different TVs at home. VPN client on all of them and running the various kodi and android apps. I got the fireTV pendant and version 2 sticks practically for free from Hulu, I am going to wait and see if Hulu or others have deals down the road since what I have works great now.
