From the manual:
Quote :
When "HDMI OUT 1+2" is selected, the unit outputs video signals at the highest resolution supported by both TVs (or projectors) connected to the unit. (For example, if you have connected a 1080p TV to the HDMI OUT 1 jack and a 720p TV to the HDMI OUT 2 jack, the unit outputs 720p video signals.)
Does anyone know if this only applies to resolution? I read this as it will output the same video signal, but it only mentions resolution. Can I have a 4K/60 signal and a 4K/30 signal at the same time? Or will it bump it down to 4K/30 for both like it does resolution?

Also, is the Denon X3500 that is often on sale at Fry's for $550 the better value?

I've been eyeing either denon 3400 or 3500 as well, I think 3500 is better value just based on the 3 hdmi output and more inputs (8 total?) also denon 3xxx has analog to digital conversion if that matters to you, huge deal for me coz of game consoles

I've been eyeing these:
Denon AVR-X3400H: approx $500 via Greentoe.com
Denon AVR-X3500H: $550 plus tax for me, from Fry's
Yamaha Aventage RX-A870BL: $500 + tax from various sources

These all have more features than I need today. Picking up at a Fry's store means a very long drive for me, and I've had no luck catching Fry's items being in stock for free shipping.

So I'm probably going to get the X3400H via Greentoe.com. Plan B is to wait for Black Friday. Unfortunately there's a chance that the $500 price for the X3400H will increase as the remaining stock decreases.

That's a good deal. Been eyeing this for about a month but not enough reviews on it for me to pull the trigger... but Costco Return Policy makes it quite enticing.

Are you implying that it the Yamaha does not do analog to digital conversion for the old Wii (or whatever)? It has an RCA video input (as well as component), and it doesn't look is has any video outputs other than hdmi, so I would assume it is converting/upscaling just fine.

The TSR 7850 is the equivalent of the RX-V685. Also the A780 is similar but comes with 3 year warranty instead of 2. Wait for Frys to put it on sale for $448 again.

I thought the TSR-7850 was the successor to the popular TSR-7810 but it isnt. 7810 has full set of preouts while 7850 only has preouts for front two channels. And the 7810 has better version of YPAO room calibration.

ah no, I was ahead of myself, yamaha probably has conversion too, I was originally eyeing a 2400/2500, but switched over to wanting a 3400/3500 for my dreamcast, wii and old xbox lol

I was thinking about picking this up since Costco is so great with returns. This is the only receiver they sell, correct?

The Yamaha TSR-7850 is currently $399 at Costco (for members) through 2/22/19.

UPDATE: There were 5 sold during the 1.5 hours I was there (Northern CA).
