Craftsman 16 in. Gas Powered Chainsaw - $100 after $30 off to rewards members (free to join)

The Craftsman 42cc/16 inch gas chainsaw packs a punch to tackle any job. With incredi-pull, this chainsaw is equipped and engineered to reduce the pull effort to provide quick and easy starts. Once started, the 16 inch Oregon bar and chain cuts with perfection. The isolated handle design reduces vibration minimizing user fatigue and the automatic oiler ensures a long-lasting performance. Chain tensions are less frequent and more accessible with the side screw tensioning system. For product care and storage, a carrying case is included to extend the overall life of the chainsaw. Craftsman bar and chain lubrication, along with 2-cycle pre-mix fuel, help ensure a long-lasting performance.

Oregon Bar & Chain
two cycle
metal chassi
Manual Chain Tensioner
Incredi-Pul™ Spring Assist Starting
5 Point Anti-Vibration System

It's a $100 gas chainsaw, what do you people expect?

It's not a Stihl, Echo, or Husqvarna. It's a $100 chainsaw on Slick Deals. It's not a bad deal for what it is.
Good toy for Halloween.
I used a gas chain saw growing up - we absolutely needed the portability of a gas one on the farm.

Once I moved to a house, I couldn't justify $150+ to cut down a single cedar tree we didn't like, so I ended up with an electric. We use it maybe once every two years, and I can sleep soundly knowing there's no carb or gas tank to gunk up.

Food for thought..

nothing. i think this is the one for $139 on Sears site with poor reviews (as well as the 18" one). if you have coupons/points to burn, you can bring it down to $100 there and earn bazillion more points.

Don't expect too much from the chainsaw and you'll be okay. Made by MTD, which is pretty low-end. Find for cutting out the occasional tree, but don't expect to cut cords of wood with this either.

Gas-Powered Outdoor Equipment cannot be returned once gas or oil has been put in it, even if the equipment has been drained of these materials.

I'd have to agree that electric is the way to go unless you are going to use a chainsaw pretty regularly.
If it's just a few limbs a year an electric will serve you better.
But if you are doing real work, like cutting firewood or if you have acreage I'd go with a good gas power. (I'm very partial to the echo Timberwolf for a great entry level)
Pretty much spend as much as you can afford and maybe a little more.

That is INCORRECT! you can return them in person at a store but now via a shipping company for the obvious hazzard.

Didn't realize they changed brands, pretty much right along with any other China saw going with MTD.
