I can't believe ring even charges for this. It's free advertisement for them. If not paying their customers or they should at least provide as part of the kit.

Love my sign too. Had it for a while now and it still works. Just nice to have a lit-up sign versus one that you hope a would-be robber would see.

Why do people even have alarm signs informing burglars of their service? I have ring but I can't justify giving the burglar a heads up about which service I use, which I'm sure most burglars are familiar with. I imagine it could even make it more tempting to rob a place because if they are home you know that ring has to call you before they can send the police out(there isn't a "silent" police button you can enable). The Ring siren is also laughable at best. Also, not everyone pays for the premium service plan.

I have cameras outside, I figure that's enough warning. If someone peaked through my door they would see our alarm keypad as well.

It's not hard to understand that this is a deterrent. Same with any alarm companies sign. Using your logic, you shouldn't have security lights either because then they'll want to break into your house because it helps them see.

Really slick deal! This has consistently been around $50. It is definitely not worth $50 but for $11 this is great! I plan on waterproofing it myself and installing in relatively covered area.

Is it statistically proven that an alarm sign actually works? I imagine it might if you don't have an alarm system that it is better than nothing, but if you do have an alarm system, couldn't it make it easier for the burglar to be familiar with your system first? Maybe since they know you have an alarm, they check every window for a motion sensor until they find an empty one. I don't understand your analogy about security lights. Security lights help you and neighbors see. If I hear a sound I get up and check, I can see the front door from right outside my bedroom door. To me it helps security on my end. Burglaries almost always happen at the darkest time of night(2:30-4a). Why is that? Because they can conceal themselves easier. Having security lights fights against that.

This gives the thieves an incentive to steal the sign or steal the ring ... LOL

Indeed it would be. One smart robber is all it takes, though.

You're not getting the point. With this light up sign, you do not need an expensive security system...
