i tried this long time back, may be 3 years
that time I used credit card and it didn't work. now I know my mistake, it has to be paid in cash at store.
it might be obvious to use cash, but wanted to share in case anyone else faces same issue

Even though they call it Amazon Cash, can you just scan the barcode in the store, tell them an amount, and pay with credit card? Or are you literally limited to using paper money for this?

this is an old deal that was quite active a while back. I did it for 2 of my accounts back then and it had to be cash, not cc for payment method (ymmv)

I think I did this way back but don't remember. lol I had to go to CVS and make a purchase. I remember showing them a barcode on the phone to scan. It was probably for Amazon Cash so guess I wouldn't qualify for this.
I saw this on my account when I purchased the $50 Amazon gift card to earn a $5 gift card. If I'm understanding you correctly I'm going to spend $40 at CVS after coupons and discounts because that's the only way I shop and I will earn a $10 Amazon gift card if I use the phone number and or scan the barcode?

Never used this before, but as I read it I go to CVS, put $40 on my amazon account using cash in CVS, and then can use that $40 to buy anything on amazon? Is that right?

Credit card has worked with previous Amazon Cash offers. I've personally done two offers and used credit card as payment for both.
Offer 1: Used credit card at CVS.
Offer 2: Used credit card at Speedway.

You are basically adding Amazon credits to your Amazon account by paying cash for Amazon credit at CVS, etc. It's like buying Amazon gift card but you are buying Amazon credits at a retail store. (Some stores may let you use debit card or credit card to purchase the Amazon credit. I think it depends on the store.)
