Huawei's BF savings just started today and they're running $150 off the i7 Matebook X Pro.

I've been watching these for a few months and missed out on them when they were $1200 back in July. This deal is not as slick but it's the best discount I've seen since then.

urlhasbeenblocked [urlhasbeenblocked.com]

urlhasbeenblocked is giving 20% back in points until midnight on 11/21/18 = $269.80 in urlhasbeenblocked points. Thanks exxonwaldez for pointing this out.

This sale is also supposed to run at Amazon, however they are not displaying the lower price yet.

Too bad that it can't stack with the student discount. Microsoft has this price as student discount at all time.

I know, I was hoping it would too. No tax at B&H for some states so that's probably the better deal.

Curious to hear other's thoughts on this price and whether we'll see $1200 again in the near future. I'm on the fence about buying at this price but I've been itching to get one of these. Bought a Matebook D from the Walmart sale a couple months back and have been very impressed.

I am in the same spot right now. I don't think it will drop price significantly in the near future though. Having said that I probably would wait for the next gen CPU.

Also, Microsoft has the most generous return policy (no restocking fee and a long return window). If you know you are buying it 100%, you can purchase Xbox gift card(for online purchase) or Microsoft store gift card(for in-store purchase). It should save you another ~10%. Just google gift card wiki

Whoops - my original post was wrong, I was looking at teardown for the Matebook X, not the Matebook X Pro. The Pro does use a 2280 SSD, which is mounted under a big heat sink. Here are instructions on how to change it without having to remove a bunch of screws to do it: https://www.reddit.com/r/Matebook...o/e6ddp4s/

Yeah that sucks I was actually wondering if it would stack myself as that would actually push me towards buying it. Guess no tax newegg for me will be the best deal if they end up matching it.

I think this is a discount directly from Huawei. I am sure Newegg will have the same price soon. Be aware of Newegg's return police and 15% restocking fee

Thanks for the reminder will have to decide between a dell xps 13 4k, x1 carbon 4k, or this for around the same price. Just no mx150 on the others.

I'd go with x1 carbon or MBXP for usability. I don't want to carry a dongle around Smilie. Also XPS 13's battery life isn't so good on the 4K model. If you want to do some productivity work or browsing a lot. 3:2 ratio screen is definitely the best for you. x1 carbon is better if you are power-heavy user. MBXP isn't performing as well despite similar spec (TDP and thermal throttling). Also, MBXP only has a half-speed Thunderbolt 3, which can be a deal breaker for some.

I really appreciate the reply I've been asking some of the other guys who were looking at the x1 carbon deals what they thought but not sure if they had heard of this MBXP lol.

This is generally just going to be a laptop to watch movies, netflix etc and type up/store documents for work. No fancy video/audio editing but I do want an amazing screen which is why I am down to the MBXP, Dell xps 13, and X1 carbon. I was looking at the 15 versions of Dell/Lenovo (xps 15 and x1 extreme) they both look so much bigger than the xps 13 and x1 carbon. Unfortunately I couldn't find a store to physically handle the MBXP.

Do I need to worry about Chinese keyloggers and backdoors with this or does that only apply to Huawei phones?

Literally never been proven on a single device.

Can't combined with student discount, and BH charges tax for MD state. I will pass on this, since the newest Matebook 13 has a better spce that this one, I can wait
