Google allows to create audio groups. Each Chromecast can be added to one to many groups. I have an Inside group that plays the same music to 3 different Chromecasts. Poor man's version of Sonos

When you have more than one Chromecast or Chromecast audio on the same home network, you can add them to an audio group, and cast audio to the whole group. They will sync up their playback for multi-room audio.

not sure on echo Dot but
i have 2 mini's, a hub and Chromecast audio in various groups. you can play on all speakers easily and in sync. works for my needs of whole home audio for sure.
