For all the Color peeps ..

Use the probe with DisplayCal software.. and install the displaycal loader.

DO NOT use the included software, it's Shi7.

Their profile loader always screws up and 7/10 times, fails to load the profile upon reboot and drops during program launches..

DisplayCal (argyll cms) is also way more accurate because it can take over 11000 samples. (not that you'd need that many, but the option is there).

Only use x-rite's software if you have a stern printing workflow that you already know works..

Thanks, I've had the deal alert for this one up for a while. Reddit has a number of posts discussing the value of this and this seems like a great price!

Buy 2 even, if you flip one even for $200, that's another $40-60 off.

laugh out loud

I grabbed the i1Studio a couple weeks ago. It worked just fine for profiling my screens and printer. No issues at all. Haven't done much printing, yet, to test the quality of the product profiles, though.

Looks like this is similar to the Datacolor Spyder products, where it sets up a profile on the computer. Are there any devices out there that will measure the colors a screen is outputting and let you adjust the screen itself until the colors are within a certain range? I get that it may not produce the same results, but seems like not having to tie the settings to a computer would be a great benefit.

The Computer provides the Highest quality video output of any device at the moment.

PC also supports 3D lut calibration, both HDR and SDR, which no other playback device supports..
