Good price, just be aware Seasonic released a statement about some compatibility issues with a select few video cards, just make sure yours isn't one before ordering.

It's better to get a PSU that matches with your expected power draw. PSUs run the most efficient at ~50% of their rated wattage.

A 550w PSU would be plenty for a HTPC. A 1000w PSU would be overkill unless you are putting in a very power-hungry video card.
You do t get the efficiency if you are so Overkill on size. Lookup the efficiency band for this. It typically is very low at under 20 percent load.

Thanks! This might come in handy for the HTPC I will be building to go with all the 8TB drives I bought from Bestbuy. Can't say no to 1K watt PSU for $50. Cashed out my gift cards from last Newegg purchase.

As mentioned, beware of the compatibility issues with certain GPUs from both Nvidia and AMD.

Yep... Must be lots of oversupply given the high price of other PC components

Holy cow this is a great deal! $50 for an crazy-well reviewed1000w psu that is almost completely silent! (unless you are using all 1000 watts and even then it's not too bad. - Of course if you are using 1000w heavily then you should probably get a bigger psu)

I just picked one up, now all I have to do is return an 850w psu I bought for $75 that I thought was a good deal yesterday... Oh well
